How to Help | Victim & Advocate Resources | Other Helpful Links

The horrific events to our south this week have produced both sadness and a yearning to be of help to our neighbors in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Given the evacuation of nearly a million people seeking refuge from those events, Arkansas has become home to many people fleeing the chaos and destruction wrought by Hurricane Katrina.

Beyond their immediate needs for shelter, food and health care, many will also be seeking legal advice. As part of our cooperation with legal service organizations in the effected Gulf states and the American Bar Association we have developed this addition to our Legal Services Partnership Website. It provides not only important links to resources available to help in this situation but also provides forms and agency contact information to help you facilitate service to any of the hurricane's victims who seek our support. We hope this helps you, those who have been displaced by Katrina, and a rebuilding of the fabric of community torn apart by this horrific event.
