PillarLooking for some legal experience this semester or summer? Volunteer with the The Center for Arkansas Legal Services or Legal Aid of Arkansas, Inc. These two organizations assist thousands of Arkansans every year in priority areas, such as family law, consumer issues, bankruptcy or evictions. They provide assistance in every county across the state of Arkansas.

What is Legal Aid?
Our vision is to improve the lives of low-income Arkansans by championing equal access to justice for all regardless of economic or social circumstances. Legal aid advocates assist clients differently depending on each client’s unique situation.  As a public interest law intern, you will gain critical experience for your future legal career by:

  • Developing courtroom and trial skills (must be Rule 15)
  • Drafting pleadings
  • Conducting legal research
  • Conducting client interviews
  • Investigating cases
