Jeff Malm Named Newton County Volunteer Attorney of the Year
FAYETTEVILLE, May 1, 2010 - In observance of Law Day, May 1, 2010, Legal Aid of Arkansas announces that Jeff Malm of Harrison has been chosen Volunteer Attorney of the Year for Newton County. The award, given each year by Legal Aid, a nonprofit corporation providing free legal services to low-income individuals, recognizes outstanding volunteerism and service to the residents of the county.
Susan M. Purtle, Pro Bono Manager and Senior Attorney for Legal Aid states,
“Mr. Malm has been recognized every year for the last seven years as the Volunteer Attorney of the Year for Newton County. This is extraordinary. When Mr. Malm moved to Arkansas over thirteen years ago, he began volunteering for Legal Aid. He and his wife, Barbara, are strong supporters of equal access to justice in Newton County and Boone County. We are very grateful for his services.”
Malm has been practicing law in Harrison since 1995. He moved to Newton County from Houston, Texas, and lives on Shiloh Mountain Road in the Low Gap area.
Malm has over thirty years of legal experience and currently has a general practice in the areas of bankruptcy, criminal law, divorce, personal injury, probate, wills and trusts, and civil litigation. He graduated from the University of Texas School of Law.
In his free time, Malm enjoys the outdoors, especially landscaping and gardening on his property.
Legal Aid of Arkansas’ vision is to improve the lives of low-income Arkansans by championing equal access to justice regardless of economic or social circumstances.
