Panel Discussion on Pro Bono Service

Description: Bowen’s Public Interest Law Society will host a panel discussion on the importance of pro bono service and different pro bono opportunities available in the community. The panel will feature Amy Johnson, the Executive Director of the Arkansas Access to Justice Commission, Dustin Duke, Managing Attorney for the Center for Arkansas Legal Services, and other members of the local access to justice community.

Description: By helping clients prepare paperwork to seal criminal records, you can give them with a sense of closure while increasing the employment and housing opportunities available to them. This event will begin with a free one-hour CLE by Brad Cozart of the Arkansas Crime Information Center on how to seal criminal records under Arkansas law.

Description: Legal Aid of Arkansas is hosting an event to create legal documents for Fayetteville Housing Authority clients and their families for free. Housing Authority clients and their spouses or partners will be able to meet with attorneys to create living wills, simple wills, durable general powers of attorney, durable powers of attorney for health care, and powers of attorney for a minor.

Description: Law firms, corporate legal departments, community organizations, government legal offices, judicial offices, and law schools can all help make a difference in the lives of Arkansans in need. Participating employees and students will make a minimum contribution of $5 to observe a Casual Friday on October 30, 2015. Contributions collected will support legal help for domestic violence victims, veterans struggling to readjust to civilian life, and children in need of stable homes or special education.
